Administrative Services

The Town of Grand-Bouctouche provides the following local services: fire protection; policing; garbage collection and disposal; water and sewer; sidewalks, roads and streets; traffic control; community planning; parks and trees; tourism promotion; economic development; urban redevelopment; housing; land consolidation.

 

Administrative Services support all departments of the Town of Grand-Bouctouche and maintains a permanent record of by-laws, resolutions, contracts, agendas and minutes of Town Council meetings. They provide advice on Town Council and committee procedures, and respond to resident inquiries. They manage the Town's financial records, support the Town Council in establishing the annual budget, prepare invoices for utilities and miscellaneous expenses, and administer customer service.

Property taxes

Property taxes are paid by every property owner in New Brunswick. Service New Brunswick is responsible for annual property assessments. The Department of Finance and Treasury Board are responsible for the billing and collection of all property taxes, including municipal taxes, which are then remitted to the municipalities.

Urban Planning Department

The objective of Kent Regional Services Commission (KRSC) is to plan and encourage logical and desirable development for the entire municipality of Grand-Bouctouche. To ensure appropriate land use, the KSB ensures that builders, developers, investors and consumers are well informed and that projects comply with provincial and municipal bylaws (construction, subdivision and zoning). The services offered by the KSB include issuing building permits, approving subdivision plans and reviewing the municipal plan. The Town of Grand-Bouctouche administers the municipal plan and by-laws.
